Disappointed

I have learned not to judge people by their mistakes.
They happen and God knows I have made my fair share.
I'm not referring to sin, I'm talking about oversights, about miscommunication, or just plain old messing-up.
Everyone has done it.
Everyone will do it.
I get that and I feel that is where God's grace so beautifully covers us and that it is our duty as believers to extend that grace.

At the same time, I do feel that we should be judged by how we remedy those mistakes.
If we feel badly about our mistakes we will accept responsibility, we will seek restitution, and we will hopefully not repeat them again.

I am very disappointed that our adoption agency has yet to learn this.

Unfortuntely this happens with many of the agencies. I don't know if its a third world thing but I hear of it happening in other countries too. Adoption is not for the faint of heart!

Funny note - my word verification for this comment is "messes"

Sorry.

Thank you for your empathy!

I wish it were just a third-world glitch, but it's not.
Our agency has made a mistake and they have admitted it.
Unfortunate for us, they now seem much more interested in covering their own behinds than in working with us to reach an acceptable resolution to the problems their oversight has created.
We ask for prayers and for Godly wisdom as we deal with the many complicated intricacies this error has produced.

Shoot, Jenni. I am so sorry all this is happening. Praying that God would cover your family with his peace. Keeping all your travelers in my prayers as well.

Jenni - I know where you are coming from. We too experienced this same thing with them. These long waits and careless mistakes are not "just part of Ethiopian adoptions" as many think. They should do what's right especially after all you have gone through. This is not just an expense - it is harder than people think to be on your own with all the littles for 2 more weeks. They should pay for a house helper for you for these 3 weeks - LOL.

Boy, what a story you will have to tell the boys when they grow up. Your perseverance to adopt and love them is a picture of Christs love for us in Romans 8:35-38.

Wow - you have encouraged me as I need to heed God's word too and have mercy towards a deceitful worker we have hired.

Praying to our mountain moving God - to move this mountain,
Joy

Hey Jenni
I am sorry to hear of another mix up. If your husband is staying the extra time, shoot me an email as their might be a better guest house for him to move to.
